Rebellion - OG Cuicide, Chevy Jones: текст песни id 53402536
I wrote this record the day my son ran away from home
Now, I sit back and remember how Ms. Price used to worry about me when I stayed
gone and she didn’t know where I was
'Cause I was young, and I was feelin' rebellion
Wow, the past still repeats itself
Son, you know your mother and your father love ya
Ain’t nothin' in the world we wouldn’t do for ya
Good grades and you know we roll the carpet out
Anything on your mind, let’s sit and talk it out
It really hurt me to see you run away from home
Asking myself in the mirror, «Where did I go wrong?»
I don’t wanna see you follow in my footsteps
Only by the grace of God, how I shook death
'Cause the streets really not fun and games
And the bullets really don’t have a name
I ain’t tryna run your life, I’m just tryna lead
I’m your father, not your homeboy on the streets
When I speak, all I ask that you listen
Don’t let it enter one ear and out the other, driftin'
I know how it is to be young, don’t wanna hear what nobody tell us
'Cause we feel rebellion
I know you feel the world’s against you
I know you think I ignore what you’re goin' thru
I’ve been there before, don’t go down that road, listen to what I tell ya
Don’t live the life of rebellion
Young world, every son, every daughter
You growin' up in the time when the world’s harder
Us, as parents, just wanna see you livin' right
And prepare you, so when we go see the light
We can look down on you with a smile
And pat our self on our back for our child
Is it wrong that we wanna show you real love?
Like the Almighty Father in the sky above
Don’t be mad at your parents, 'cause they mean well
They don’t wanna see you dead or in a jail cell
Hear me out, 'cause I’m just speakin' from the heart
Life is better when you use your head, thinkin' smart
Stand tall, don’t nobody know it all
But we been there before, what we showin' y’all
Take these words in your heart, let 'em stick to ya
And let it run thru your vein, like a fix do ya
I know you feel the world’s against you
I know you think I ignore what you’re goin' thru
I’ve been there before, don’t go down that road, listen to what I tell ya
Don’t live the life of rebellion
Growin' up as a kid, it was no joke
I started off a foster child that had no hope
Then the lifestyle, rebellion sorta came to me
Put clouds over my head, then brought the rain to me
Couldn’t nobody tell me nothing, 'cause I felt grown
Even though they was right, to me, it felt wrong
Wanted to live my own life, 'cause I loved the streets
And it didn’t matter if it put me under sheets
I was caught up in it deep, couldn’t let it go
Movin' too fast, shoulda kept it slow
Now that I’m older, I got kids
I’m tryna show them the better way to live
I had a teacher that showed me the street life
Unscripted, so there was no re-writes
I grew up in the gutter, now my past got me listed as a felon
Damn, rebellion
I know you feel the world’s against you
I know you think I ignore what you’re goin' thru
I’ve been there before, don’t go down that road, listen to what I tell ya
Don’t live the life of rebellion
